Migrant Echoes is an independent podcast radio project produced for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
This is the first project of its kind in Manchester, supported by the non-profit group Migrants Supporting Migrants, empowering those in need to collaborate, communicate and help each other to form a community through sharing experiences of migration.
The Migrant Echoes team is composed of enthusiastic volunteers, many of whom have experience of life as a migrant, inspiring them to create a platform to offer advice, to share and to grow.

What is Migrant Echoes?
Migrant Echoes is an integrated Media project aimed to strengthen grassroots migrant and black minority ethnic groups lead by migrants themselves across the region and encourages then to ‘raise their voices’ in different ways; participating in discussions on migration matters locally. Progressing on from the work of the Migrants Solidarity Voices from the North Network, Migrant Echoes is a platform to exchange information between members and discuss important issues on migration, multi-culturalism and BME communities. Our Aims
Migrant Echoes wants to provide a platform for migrant and BME communities to engage, to share information and create an alternative media exchange aimed at a migrant audience, driven and directed by migrants themselves. We aim to show the extraordinary diversity within the migrant communities of the North West, cover issues that affect migrant and BME groups, allowing us to express ourselves creatively and independently and tell our own stories. How We Work
Born out of Migrants Supporting Migrants (MSM), Migrant Echoes is an evolving project to cover all contemporary issues affecting the North West's migrant population. Driven by migrant and BME individuals and allies, Migrant Echoes has begun as a podcast radio show, interviewing a number of figures from the North West to explore current issues surrounding migration in the UK. Our work is grassroots driven and committed to diversity and expression. |
